- Recently , a mining contractor delegation from Ghana paid an on-site visit to the manufacturing base of Shanbo Construction Machinery (Shandong) Co., Ltd. for factory audit, machine performance test and technical discussion. After machine trial operation, production line inspection and thorough negotiation on spare parts & after-sales support, the client formally signed the purchase contract for 4 crawler excavators.
This Ghanaian client runs open-pit gold mining, rural road construction and land development projects across West Africa. Their job sites feature high ambient temperature, heavy dust and muddy rough terrain, which set strict requirements on machine durability, continuous heavy-duty performance and easy access to spare parts. Our sales and technical team recommended a well-matched machine portfolio tailored to local mining conditions: 2 units SE220 (22-ton general earthmoving excavator) + 2 units SE370 (37-ton heavy-duty mining excavator).
SE220 excels at earth excavation, trenching and site clearing, with stable fuel consumption and flexible maneuverability, ideal for auxiliary mining infrastructure and access road building. SE370 is the reinforced mining version, equipped with strengthened boom & undercarriage, rock bucket, enlarged cooling package and heavy-duty dust-proof air filter. It is designed for ore stripping, loading and hard rock breaking. This tonnage mix is widely proven on Ghanaian mine sites, balancing production capacity and operating cost perfectly for the client’s current project schedule.
During the visit, the customer toured the structural welding workshop, assembly line, testing area and spare parts warehouse. They tested SE220 and SE370 in person, focusing on hydraulic response, gradeability and continuous running performance under high temperature. In the technical meeting, our team presented customized upgrades for West African harsh environments: enhanced dust protection, improved cooling system, direct-injection engine compatible with local fuel, pre-packed wear parts kit, remote technical support and local maintenance coordination via our Ghana agent.
The client shared that they had contacted multiple Chinese machinery suppliers before. Many suppliers only focused on price quotation without practical support for African mining conditions.
